Keypad Dialing

There are three ways to dial numbers: by name, by number, and by extension.
  • Dial by Name
    • Start typing a name on the keyboard
    • Zoom will search the corporate directory for a person that matches that name
  • Dial by Number
    • If you know your party's phone number, you can dial the entire number
  • Dial by Extension
    • If you know your party's extension, you can just dial the extension
    • For people, the extension is four digits and starts with a 5
    • For non-person lines, the extension is four digits and starts with an 8.
If you are used to T9 dialing, you won't be able to use that with Zoom Phone. Instead, just use the keyboard to enter the person's name.

Some people have access to multiple numbers, and you can make a call as any one of these numbers by changing your caller ID. Your caller ID default is set in the web settings, but you can also manually choose a different one here. This lets you place calls on someone's or something's behalf, like your department.

To change your caller ID, click on the Caller ID underneath the blue Place Call button, then choose the caller ID to use.
