While we are working on the issue, please use Firefox or Edge to run or modify reports in Cognos to bypass the error and receive accurate information on your report. If you receive a scheduled job, you may need to run it again within the Cognos system to get accurate results.

Following a recent Google Chrome update, some Cognos users may encounter the error message: "Module metadata request failed." While existing reports can generally still be run, users may be unable to edit reports or access certain report development features when using Chrome. Data displayed from reports with this error may be inaccurate.
IT is currently planning to implement IBM's latest Cognos maintenance update, which addresses compatibility with recent browser updates. Until a resolution is implemented, users should use one of the following browsers for report editing and development: Microsoft Edge or Firefox. These browsers are not affected by the issue.
