Apple TVs for wireless screencasting


Apple TVs (for wireless projection of your Mac laptops' screen to a large monitor/projector) can be found in most academic classrooms and presentation spaces at Kenyon.
Screencast to an Apple TV
  1. Turn on the classroom presentation system using the lectern Extron button control panel or touch panel.  Projector or Display will turn on.
  2. Press the "Apple TV" button or icon on the Extron control panel.
  3. Connect your laptop or device to the KenyonDevices or KenyonWifi wireless network. If your device is not already joined to this network, simply select the network, then log in when prompted.
  4. Once connected to Kenyon Devices, choose "Screen Mirroring" on your laptop (or select the AirPlay icon at the top of your laptop screen -- it looks like a rectangle with a black triangle) then select your room's Apple TV from the dropdown list.  (You can refer to the instructions on the projection screen for other instructions, or to find the name of the room's Apple TV.)
  5. For iOS mobile devices, swipe down from the the top of the device screen, and select "Screen Mirroring" (two rectangles icon).
  6. The projector or flat-screen monitor connected to the AppleTV will display a four-digit passcode. When prompted, enter this code on your laptop or device.
  7. Your device's image should now appear mirrored on the projector or TV screen.
  8. When finished, press Stop Mirroring to disconnect.
