Stephens Conference room


Stephens Conference Room tech instructions:
To use the local PC with room TV
  1. Locate the Samsung TV remote control pictured below.  (It will be labelled “Stephens Conference.)
  1. Press the red Power button at the top left.  The TV will turn on.
  2. On the home screen, select the “PC” icon, using the circular control button on the TV remote control.  Navigate up and down, or right and left, using the perimeter of the circular button. 
  3. Press the center of the circular button to make a selection. 
  1. If you get lost, press the “Home” button on the TV remote control to return to the main TV menu.  Selecting the “Recent” icon will choose the last selected input as full screen.
  2. Once the PC screen is selected, log into the computer using the provided wireless keyboard/trackpad.  Input your full Kenyon username (include @kenyon.edu) and your password.
  3. Press the center “Start” button on the computer task bar to select and present from any application you would like to display (PowerPoint, Chrome browser, etc…)
  4. If you want to start a Google Meet or Zoom videoconference session, open and log in to either of those two applications.  The mic and speaker should be set automatically, but if not, ensure that the “Stem speaker” and “Stem Mic” are selected in the audio output and input settings.
  5. Adjust the volume of the speaker using the volume icon on the lower right of the computer’s taskbar.  (Echo can be reduced by ensuring the speaker is not set at too high a volume.)
  6. When finished presenting, close any open applications and log off of the computer.
  7. Finally, press the red power button on the TV remote control.

To use Apple TV for wireless screencasting to room TV
  1. Locate the TV remote control pictured above. 
  2. Press the red Power button at the top left of the remote.  The TV will turn on.
  3. On the home screen, select the “Apple TV” icon, using the circular control button on the Samsung TV remote control.  Navigate up and down, or right and left, using the perimeter of the circular button.  Press the center of the circular button to make a selection. 
  4. You will be presented with a full screen of the “Ditto” homepage.
  5. If you have a Windows PC laptop, follow the instructions on the Ditto screen by opening a web browser on your laptop and browse to “connect.goditto.com.”  Follow the instructions on the website to connect and screencast the contents of your laptop to the TV.
  6. You may use the same method if you have an Apple device, such as a MacBook, iPad, or iPhone.  Alternatively, you can use the AirPlay feature on your Apple device to navigate directly the name of the Apple TV listed at the top of the TVs’ displayed Ditto screen.
  7. Your laptop or device image should now appear on the TV.
  8. When finished presenting, disconnect your laptop/device from the Apple TV and press the red power button on the TV remote control.
