To Use Classroom Laptop with LCD Projector
  • The classroom laptop is located at the instructor's lectern/shelf at the front of the room.
  • Turn on the laptop and log in.  Ensure that the VGA cable is plugged in to the laptop VGA port.  If audio is desired, plug the audio mini plug into the headphones port on the laptop.
  • To display computer image on projector, use the Control Panel pictured above. 
  • Press and hold the Display On button for two seconds. Button will blink, indicating that the projector is slowly turning on.
  • Press the VGA button on the input selector of control panel.
  • The computer image should appear on screen.
  • Adjust volume, if needed, with volume knob on control panel and/or the volume icon in the laptop's system bar (lower right).
  • To temporarily mute the screen image, press the Video Mute button.
  • When finished, log off computer, then press the Display Off button, holding it at least 2 seconds until it starts blinking and projector shuts off.

To Use Personal Laptop with Projector
  • Fasten the VGA cable to your laptop's VGA port.  If using a Mac laptop, you will need a VGA adapter (available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.) If audio is desired, plug the audio mini plug into the headphones port on the laptop.
  • Turn on laptop.
  • To display computer image on projector, use the Control Panel pictured above. 
  • Press and hold Display On button for two seconds. Button will blink, indicating that the projector is slowly turning on.
  • Press the VGA button on control panel input selector.
  • Laptop image should appear on screen. If image is not optimal, press the Auto Image button on the control panel.
  • Adjust volume, if needed, with volume knob on control panel and/or the volume icon in the laptop's system bar (lower right).
  • To temporarily mute the screen image, press the Video Mute button.
  • When finished, press the Display Off button, holding it at least 2 seconds until it starts blinking. Projector will then turn off.
  • Turn off your laptop, unplug the VGA cable and return it to the classroom laptop's VGA port.
